The only Maher building on the West Coast, which has long been used by the Women's City Club of Pasadena as their private headquarters, has been gifted by the club (which dissolved last year) to Pasadena Heritage. This may make the house more open to the public. Why such an event matters? The house contains a fireplace with a tile face designed by Blanch Ostertag, who, with Orlando Giannini, created the tile for FLW's fireplaces in Husser, DD Martin and Ennis. Like the other works, this one features wisteria in a manner very similar to the Martin design.
