Something gets lost in the design process... It needs work. I believe people underestimate the cost of ...

$50M to $100M doesn't seem too far off the mark.

Taliesin (WI) - Cost to fully restore
Hello -
We toured Taliesin (WI) last week. My son asked me how much it would cost to fully restore Taliesin. What would that cost? I guessed $50M. That is about $1000 per ft2, and then rounding up. Are there any estimates on the matter or has anyone worked up a budget?
Thank you!

Mark - Your passion is awesome! That’s my favorite FLW House. Question: Have you thought about the content of your website and how to keep it going after you hang it up or the inevitable happens? As a society, we have not solved how to archive electronic content. It would be a shame for some version...

SDR,
I reached out to the WI foundation. They were able to track down the year and address. Bingo! Great suggestion!

Yes! Yes! Yes! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Helmut Ajango was it
Good architect, for sure
(I must have been thinking about another Wright apprentice who was Asian.

Funny, during more more meetings, I have been trying different word combos in Google image. I am pretty sure that I'd recognize it if I saw it.

Re: Do you recall the architect? Wright and Like Tour in WI (mid-2000s)
The worst part, until last year, I had the brochure!
Good call, I will reach out to them. They might have an archive beyond 2012.
The tour was between 2001 and 2009.
The actual architect was an apprentice and I believe of Asian ancestry, a vague memory though!

Do you recall the architect? Wright and Like Tour in WI (mid-2000s)
Thank you in advance! I saw a house on the Wright and Like WI tour Going from memory it was in 2000's The house was the house of a former Taliesin architect or maybe apprentice The house was built into a hillside with a cantilever deck (Pew house like) I seem to think the architect passed away Does ...

Re: Walter Mondale, 1928-2021
Very nice house.
I don't recall VP Mondale in any real way. I was a kid when he was in his political prime. It seemed like he had a nice long life.
On both accounts, good for him.
